To summarize, recent court decisions have created questions as to whether or not public websites should be treated like public accommodations under the ADA. Courts in New York and Florida have taken particularly broad interpretations of the ADA and public website accessibility, ruling that public websites should be subject to ADA guidelines. Somewhat predictably, this resulted in a spike in public website accessibility lawsuits during the last year.
