Dear Friends and Colleagues-

I hope this email finds you well and preparing for a very busy and successful season in our great state of Florida! I want to thank everyone for their support and participation at regional events and summer conferences over the past year, as your attendance at our meetings is critical to our continued success.

Last month at our final Summer Conference at Longboat Key, I was sworn in and now have the privilege and distinct honor of representing the FLCMAA as your President for 2014/2015. I am very excited and determined to work on your behalf, with our talented Board of Directors, and dedicated Managing Director, Beth Meister, to continue to lead our great Chapter over the next year. Thank you for your trust and support, and I am committed to give all that I can back to the association that has benefited me in my professional development. I wanted to also take this opportunity to share my appreciation with my team at The Country Club at Mirasol, and with my Board of Directors, because without their support, this opportunity to volunteer would not be possible.

Association Financials

Our future is very bright in the sunshine state! We are financially in a very good position thanks to your support and as a result of our valued Corporate Partnerships. At our last Business meeting, it was reported that our dues would not increase for 2015. I want to thank Jeff Hartigan, CCM (2014 Secretary/Treasurer), our Managing Director, Beth Meister and our Association Controller, Mitch Stump, CPA for their efforts in creating a budget for next year that will allow us to continue to offer outstanding education, high quality social & networking opportunities and tremendous value for our members. Dues statements have been mailed and are due in December. Please do not forget that as a member of CMAA you are required to retain an active status and dues paying member in both the Florida Chapter and the CMAA. Scholarship Program

I am also very excited to announce that your Board has approved the creation of a new FLCMAA Scholarship Program which will be available to our members who are actively working to advance their careers by attending BMI programs in order to achieve their CCM accreditation. The financial standing of the Chapter and the support from our Corporate Partners has provided us the opportunity to and solidifies the Chapter's commitment to reinvest in the dedicated, future leaders of our industry. Our membership is currently at 655 strong and that number has been growing every year as we continue to attract young, involved managers to our association. More details on this program will be announced shortly.

On behalf of the Board and Members of FLCMAA, I wanted to expressly share my appreciation for the contributions made by David Somers, CCM and David Colclough, CCM. David Somers CCM, -thank you for your hard work and effort in creating an outstanding educational line up at our 2014 Summer Conferences. The feedback and ratings we received was tremendous-you continued to raise the bar!

There haven’t been many people that have given as much to FLCMAA as our past President, David Colclough, CCM. I have learned so much from David’s leadership, dedication and commitment, and it was a pleasure working with him over the past several years. Please make sure to thank David for his countless hours and contributions to our Chapter over the years.

2015 Summer Conference Series

I am happy to report that Craig Martin, CCM, of St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton has accepted my invitation to be our State Education Chair for our 2015 Summer Conferences and I know he won’t disappoint us as everything he does is first class! Please mark your calendars now for next Summer as you won’t want to miss these wonderful education and networking opportunities.

National Board Nominations

A huge thank you goes to Rick Bayliss, CCM, (The Lost Tree Club, Past President), Michael McCarthy (Addison Reserve Country Club) and Bill Langley, CCM (Quail Ridge Country Club) for their hours of dedication and support of CMAA. The addition of our new CEO, Jeffrey Morgan and the attention paid by the entire Board of Directors toward this leadership effort have been very much appreciated and we are excited about the future of our Association. The Florida Chapter has the privilege of two managers who are running for open positions on the National Board in 2015. Bill Langley, CCM, General Manager at Quail Ridge Country Club is running to retain his seat for another term. Brian Kroh, CCM, General Manager at John's Island Club is also running for a position on the National Board. We are thankful to have representation on the National Board and hope that you will support our candidates when voting opens later this year. We will be sure to remind you again to make sure you vote, as soon as voting opens.
